Comix & Stories 2025

 

Back in the early 2000s, pre-VanCAF, I would put on an annual small press/independent artist show in the summer called COMIX & STORIES. This would be a flip on the regular Comicons, with all the wall tables booked by artists or publishers, and a few vendors with small-press/indy/underground comics set up in the middle. Guests at these shows included Ed Brubaker, Jason Lutes, David Lasky, Ellen Forney, Jim Woodring, Kim Deitch, and James Jean. With the pause in VanCAF, I’m bringing back COMIX & STORIES this year, on July 6, at Heritage Hall. Confirmed guests so far are Marc Bell (Raw Sewage Science Fiction, Stroppy), Simon Roy (Prophet, Habitat, Griz Grobus), Cole Pauls (We See Stars Only at Night, Kwandur, Pizza Punks), Cam Hayden (Pinocchio and Jesus, Coffin Knockers), and Aaron Navrady (The Cold Fire). Creator/publisher tables for the show will be $80 for a 3x6’ table and $45 for a 3x3’ table.
